According to Apple in Japan,it isusually very rare that iPod Nanos would overheat, especially those that were sold between September 2005 and December 2006.
There has been27 reported cases of overheating devices that caused fire or minor burn injuries since 2008 and the Japan Ministry ofEconomy, Trade and Industry had asked the manufacturer for more information. And Apple in Japan had reported an additional 34 cases which the company failed to report earlier.
But with pressure from the government, Apple Japanhas agreed toreplace overheating iPod Nanos.
